Santa Barbara to Long Beach

The last leg of the delivery, and the kindest. Down the Santa Barbara Channel with the Channel Islands standing off to starboard, the boat finally sailing the way she was meant to after a hard week of teaching me.

Past Los Angeles the traffic thickened and the water went from wild to worked, tankers and tugs and the long grey line of the ports. I ran her into Long Beach and tied up at the home berth that would be hers for good. Oakland to Long Beach, done. The voyage that started this whole thing was over, and every one after it would be measured against it.
